Balance shaft is a core engine component for vibration control. During operation, the reciprocating motion of the pistons generates primary and secondary inertial forces; in inline four- and three-cylinder engines, the secondary reciprocating inertia cannot be balanced by the crankshaft alone. A pair of counter-rotating shafts with eccentric weights produces a centrifugal couple equal and opposite to the secondary inertia, significantly cancelling engine vibration.

NewCams balance shafts are precisely assembled from eccentric weights, bearing journals and a drive end (sprocket / gear / pulley). Forged steel or ductile iron blanks are CNC-machined, surface-hardened by induction hardening or nitriding and individually dynamically balanced, with tight control over eccentric mass and phase tolerance for smooth, quiet operation.

We supply balance shafts for a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines, covering three- and four-cylinder applications for passenger cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles in the aftermarket. All products are made in automated workshops and inspected batch by batch.
